2026 Convention Recap

06 August, 2026

This firsthand recollection was written by attendee and Forward Party member Norma Van Dyke.

On July 18, the Pennsylvania Forward Party held our 3rd Statewide Convention at the Hyatt House in King of Prussia. The conference served as an enactment of what the democratic process should look like.

The morning party business was followed by presentations from those who ran for office.

We heard from Eric Settle, who ran for state attorney general, and Christine Todd Whitman, former governor of New Jersey, as well as past and current candidates for office in their respective communities.

The day also included brief presentations and tables hosted by partner organizations, such as Fair Districts PA, Make Voters the Donors, and Open Primaries

The conference day concluded by dividing into four working groups...

...but the end of the day did not conclude the work of the committee. It was followed by contacting conference participants to enlist them in the work of the party, including follow-up phone calls to garner their evaluations of the conference.

And there you have it: democracy at work!

Thanks to everyone that made the convention such a success!
